Laundering Instructions

Marmot provides a professional laundering service with our local laundromat, Boomers, for a service fee of $30 for all apparel and $40 for all sleeping bags. For more information on this service please call 888-311-2900.

For at-home care, we recommend the following products and practices used on our Marmot gear.

HARD GOODS

Tents - We recommend hand washing the tent, footprint, and fly with Nikwax Tech Wash, and then air-dry outside, away from direct sun. After washing, Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof can be sprayed on to retreat and revive the waterproof and UV protection capabilities.

Backpacks - We recommend hand washing the item with Nikwax Tech Wash, and then air dry. After washing, Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof can be sprayed on to retreat and revive the waterproof and UV protection capabilities.

Sleeping Bags - We recommend washing the bag with Nikwax Down Wash Direct for down-filled bags or Nikwax Tech Wash for synthetic-filled bags in a large front-loading washing machine usually found at laundromats. Then, dry the bag on low heat for at least 1 hour with 2-3 tennis balls or thick rolled up socks to re-fluff the down.

SOFT GOODS

Down - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Down Wash Direct (for cleaning) or Nikwax Down Proof (for waterproofing). Then, dry the garment on low heat with 2-3 tennis balls or thick rolled-up socks to re-fluff the down. After washing, you can apply Nikwax TX direct Spray-On to retreat and revive the water repellency.

Fleece - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Polar Proof, and then either dry the garment on low heat or lay flat to dry.
