Laundering Instructions

HARD GOODS

Tents - We recommend hand washing the tent, footprint, and fly with Nikwax Tech Wash, and then air-dry outside, away from direct sun. After washing, Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof can be sprayed on to retreat and revive the waterproof and UV protection capabilities.

Backpacks - We recommend hand washing the item with Nikwax Tech Wash, and then air dry. After washing, Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof can be sprayed on to retreat and revive the waterproof and UV protection capabilities.

Sleeping Bags - We recommend washing the bag with Nikwax Down Wash Direct for down-filled bags or Nikwax Tech Wash for synthetic-filled bags in a large front-loading washing machine usually found at laundromats. Then, dry the bag on low heat for at least 1 hour with 2-3 tennis balls or thick rolled up socks to re-fluff the down.


SOFT GOODS

Down - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Down Wash Direct (for cleaning) or Nikwax Down Proof (for waterproofing). Then, dry the garment on low heat with 2-3 tennis balls or thick rolled-up socks to re-fluff the down. After washing, you can apply Nikwax TX direct Spray-On to retreat and revive the water repellency.

Hard Shell - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Tech Wash. Then, dry the garment on low heat or air dry. Nikwax TX Direct Wash-In or Nikwax TX direct Spray-On can also be applied after washing to retreat and revive the water repellency.

Soft Shell - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Softshell Proof, and then dry the garment on low heat. After washing, you can apply Nikwax Softshell Proof Spray-On to retreat and revive the water repellency.

Base Layers - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Basewash, and then dry the garment on low heat.

Fleece - We recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Polar Proof, and then either dry the garment on low heat or lay flat to dry.


If Nikwax is not available, we recommend liquid detergent free of dyes and perfumes. For pre-soaking stains, we recommend Dawn liquid soap.
