Great Jacket, Terrible HoodThe jacket is great. I like the length, and the style. I was very excited to have this slightly longer rain jacket (longer than my precip). However, when it started to rain, the hood was useless. When I put the hood up, it came down and covered my eyes. There was no adjustment to pull it back slightly. I thought maybe I could fix that. But then I realized the hood couldn't be "cinched up" tight against the side of your face, like on the precip. It stayed wide on the side, so I had to hold the sides of the hood to keep it from being blown off int he wind. I'm returning the jacket. It looks great, it will keep your body dry, but the hood is not functional.

Tourist on a quest from
Beautiful JacketBeautiful garment with attention to detail. Marmot delivers when it comes to outdoor performance. This jacket has a high comfortable collar that easily converts, coverage for the top of your hands, and adjustable wrist snaps, beautiful lines that flatter even a rectangular body, and a lovely hood. The hem dips in the back but not too dramatically to become trendy in a few years. It can easily go from day to evening. It is light weight but protects. Priced fairly. I give it 5 stars as it will be the perfect companion on my European adventure. (I feel like I can trust Marmot and that the seams won't leak in the rain and the zipper won't break and I will be warm and dry in this product!)

Love, Love, LOVE this jacket!I have a lot of expectations for my raincoats... and this jacket exceeds every expectation that I have! I was looking for a longer, versatile coat from a company known for its quality and customer service. Not mentioning any names, but the last 2 coats that I have purchased from the same company have broken in the SAME exact way, and the company's response: "we're sorry, just buy another one". Needless to say, I did a lot of research before I bought my next coat, and I'm 111% satisfied with the Lea Jacket. The quality is amazing, and it's very versatile. Plus, the length falls at a great mid-thigh spot for adequate coverage while on the go.

Love the cut and colorThis is a great feminine cut rain/wind jacket. I like that it has the longer cut in the back and even the angled sleeves. I also really like that the wrist can be adjusted larger and smaller. Jackets are usually too big in the sleeves for me. I'm 5'3" 120lbs and the small fit great. I wear this jacket out in town or out on hikes in Alaska and it has been great for both. the hood does come down some over my eyes but I just kind of pulled it back and it stayed put and worked fine. Used this jacket as my outer layer for ice climbing this past weekend and it kept me warm and dry.

picky about my hoods from
Perfect jacket and perfect hoodI find the negative reviews regarding the hood to be misleading. The hood has a "swerve" shape upfront, similar to the same design shape of the sleeves and the back of the jacket. However, this feature is not purely for aesthetics, but it serves to REALLY keep your hair and head dry. I deal with hair that with the slightest humidity becomes unruly and ugly. Just about all rain gear has hoods that do not cover my bangs. When I arrive at destination, my hair is dry but my face is surrounded by a mess of hair that could have been avoided if the hood had done its job. It is extremely difficult to find truly deep hoods, this jacket has one, without falling over your face and impeding vision. Be sure to purchase your true size, I would imagine that in this style a larger fit would fit as well.

Good jacket, awful hoodNice material, nice length, nice internal pocket. Hood awful and cannot be used. Hood comes down and covers your eyes and nose and there is no adjustment to pull it back. A rain jacket is useless without a hood. The hood can be cinched up to some extent from side-to-side. But there is no back-to-front adjustment. So, I had a cinched-up hood that came over my eyes and nose and I could not see where I was going. I was disappointed as I had always had a high opinion of Marmot quality. Unfortunately, I bought it on sale from a retailer who does not take back returns.

Great jacket with one major flaw.I just wore this jacket over a ten day trip through Spain, where it was chilly and rainy. I absolutely love it. It looks so much nicer than a lot of the technical wear out there. I bought it primarily for its longer length, good fit, packability, and great looks. Much to my surprise when it arrived, it does not have a two-way zipper (one that opens from the bottom as well as the top). That makes it uncomfortable to sit down in. Other than that, it's a great coat.

Classy and casual jacketI wanted a town-to-hiking rain jacket (with a hood) that was light and thin enough to carry in a daypack and loose enough to wear over thick sweaters or vests while still looking fitted. This jacket seems perfect. I also like the rich, burnt-red color and the length to mid-thigh with a lower back hem, especially nice when sitting on wet places.
The hood is big and if I'm not wearing a thick, knitted cap or a baseball cap, it falls forward over my eyes. You can tighten it around your face with the adjustable, thin elastic cording on the sides of the hood which helps. I like how the hood rolls up and tucks under the high collar when not in use.
I am 5' 4" and wear USA size 12 tops (big bust) and size 8 bottoms. The "large" fit perfectly over a shirt + fleece vest + light sweater.
