The Bostonian from
Amazing Style & FitI just received my jacket today, and it happens to be 40* and raining in February in Boston, so I will comment on style and fit only. Amazing! What I was looking for and more. Wanted a “nice” thigh-length down parka, and this is it. 700 down fill but not super puffy at all. I am 5’2” and the coat comes mid thigh, sleeves are perfect length, I’m Medium on top and M/L on bottom, and this fits nicely on 42” hip/butt and I’m able to zip with being sausaged. And it’s slim and shapely!! Not a sleeping bag, even with a curvy bottom. Lots of nice details. The fur on the hood does cover the eyes, but it’s removable. Not a true black, has a bit of charcoal in it... for those who are particular about color.

Great quality, not full winter coat.I bought this during MN’s three weeks of negative temps. With 700-fill power I expected it to be warmer than it is. I have a Northface 550 fill that I would says provides the same level of warmth.
That said, I’d rate it fine for 20 degrees and above. If you layer, you’ll stay warm enough below that. It’s a very flattering coat on, and I love the magnets along with the zipper. With the fur on, it’s hard to see out the hood but without it’s just fine. There’s a small pocket along the interior by the zipper, which is a nice added feature.
Overall, a good jacket but not a “heavy” winter coat. I lived in Denver for six years and this would have been the perfect weight for those winters.

Wonderful Winter Coat! What a wonderful jacket! This is perfect for Colorado winters. Some of my favorite features of this jacket are the fleece lined sleeves as well as the magnetic closure to the jacket.
This is a double zipper, which takes a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it, the jacket is amazing!
I purchased a size Small and I am 5ft and 110lbs. I probably could have gone with the XS but this works if I have sweaters underneath my jacket.
Overall it is a very simple jacket. Two main hand pockets as well as one small inside pocket.
Great price very a very functional jacket!
Highly recommended from a Colorado Gal!

Nice winter coatI bought this jacket in a large- I'm typically a medium, but sized up because I'm currently pregnant. I would say this jacket runs true to size. I really like the style and the fit. The only problems I have with it are the that hood is enormous and not easily adjusted, and I've had some issues with the zipper. In terms of warmth, I've only worn it once on a windy, 35-ish degree day, and it kept me warm. Hopefully it holds up in colder temperatures. (I have TNF Arctic parka, which is incredibly warm, so I judge all other parkas against that one in terms of warmth!) I just wish I had waited a couple more weeks because I noticed the price on this jacket dropped!

Poor quality and poor fitThe zipper is poor quality and I should have listened to the other reviewers - even for the discount it is not worth having a broken or crappy zipper and have to struggle to put a “quality “ name brand coat on. They should discontinue manufacturing coats this way.
Sizing is also disproportionate- a large fits wide hips but can barely zip up over a normal chest size . I can’t imagine sizing up to an even larger size to then be drowning in a coat just to fit in my chest. Even with just a long sleeve shirt it barely zips over my chest and it feels so tight and smooshes them .
Overall wish I would have bought a Columbia jacket for the same price.

Zipper fail!I really like this coat, though I can't testify to warmth as the frigid weather has passed. My biggest complaint is that the zipper is not working properly; it doesn't catch at the bottom to pull it up. I'm waiting to hear from Marmot for a replacement and hope that one works better. Also, was hoping to receive this when the weather was super cold, and they said free three day shipping. That's great, but I didn't receive it until 10 days later.

Really nice coat, a little too wide at the bottomI have to agree that while this coat is warm, maybe 30F (0C) and above. It’s thinner but has really soft fleece sleeves inside and the fur hood is cute. I am 5’4” and 120lbs, athletic and got a small, which fits at the top but bells out, making it wider at the bottom so not as fitted and leaves room then for cold air to go straight up the jacket. Maybe better for someone curvy in the thigh/hip area. Still keeping it.

Love this jacket!!!!I received my jacket a couple of days ago and am so happy with it. It's warm, the perfect length and fit, doesnt look frumpy and has hidden magnets instead of buttons or velcro. My only complaint is that the zipper is a little bit annoying at first and requires some patience to get used to it. I felt like a kindergartner again trying to figure out how zippers work.....I did end up conquering it but I was starting to get frustrated
