Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for hiking and all kinds of travel This is my new go-to travel jacket. It's pretty lightweight for a rain jacket and easily packs up for travel. I took it on a hike in Norway with me and got caught in rain and hail and it held up great and kept me dry. I also recently took it to India in Monsoon season. The fabric is soft and pliable, but still waterproof - that's what I love about it. I can also just wear it for a regular jacket for wind protection and a bit of warmth. The zips under the arms are great for ventilation when hiking too. I only wish it had an inside pocket for a phone or something - else I love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for tall women I really wanted to like this jacket. It has great features and is well-made. However, the sleeves are far too short landing ~1" from my wrist. I am 5' 9", 145lbs, and typically wear Small or Sz 6. I ordered a medium and it is too baggy in the mid-section and the sleeves are too short. I would recommend this jacket for those ~ 5' 8" and shorter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Minimum use, seems good I have only used this in a light drizzle so far, so the review is limited. The color is true to what I saw on the screen. The jack feels durable and quality. It has a stiffness that I find the better raincoats offer. The zippers are functional and work smoothly, especially on the armpit vents. I like the brim on the hood and find it stays up easily. The jack was packable when I went on a recent trip. I do wish it had snaps or velcro of some kind so I could close it partially in lighter weather. Perhaps I have a shorter waist, but I do feel that the jacket is long and rather tight on the hips. This is also why I'd like it to have snaps or something that allows partial closure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works! I was in need of a new raincoast after my North Face one disintigrated last year. I wanted something that was made better and would last longer. This is a much nicer quality rain coat. After reading the reviews, I ordered a M instead of my normal S. I'm glad I did. It is a little more fitted in the hips, and I don't really have hips. I'm 5'3" and 118 lbs. It is a little roomy, but comfortable and I have room for a sweatshirt underneath and still be able to move freely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Funky hood I upgraded to the eclipse from an older precip raincoat, hoping to find a good, all-around jacket. I sized up to large, based on reviews, but found the overall fit was too loose, especially around the hips (the jacket sort of flares near the bottom) and the hood, which was long in front. I am 5'7", 135 lbs, long waisted, average build. The hood was the deal breaker. Although there's a shock cord adjustment on the back, tightening it just cinched the hood down on my head, but the brim still protruded out in front quite far, in an odd way. My impression is that the hood would fit nicely over a helmet. I loved the turquoise color and the material seemed high quality, medium weight, with a matte (not shiny) finish. But because of the funky hood, I sent it back. Possibly, I could have sized back to medium and the fit would have been better, but in the end I decided I wanted a bit lighter coat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I really wanted a jacket with a double zipper (one that could zip the front up and down). It was difficult to understand which jackets had this feature so I got help from a Marmot chat person who recommended the Eclipse Jacket, among others. The Eclipse was on sale at a great price so I bought it. I was surprised when I got the jacket that it didn't have that particular feature I wanted! The jacket itself is fine ad it was such a great price I'm keeping it, but I'm disappointed that the Marmot rep didn't recommend the right product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight climbing shell I purchased this shell primarily to use while ice climbing and mountaineering... of course, the weather turned as soon as it arrived, so I’ll have to wait until next year to test it out in ice conditions. I’ve worn this jacket a few times so far in blustery rain and it’s worked out great! Keeps me dry, breathable, does the job. I expect it’ll work super well with a layer or two underneath once the cold weather rolls around next year! Love the harness-compatible pockets, and the hood definitely fits very well over a rock helmet. I’d recommend sizing a bit up if you’re looking to fit a few layers underneath, as the jacket actually was a bit more slim-fitting than expected. Height: 5’4” Weight: 135 Size purchased: M

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the color not the sizing I bought this to sail, but an extra large was too small. 5 inches too small. I had to try a men’s jacket, and purchased one, but it’s way too big—now I just am not sure if I want to go through the process again—plus, the men’s colors are muted and not to my taste.
