Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light, breathable, but not very durable. These pants are lightweight, pack small, and breath well. They eventually soak through (like all rain pants), but they do a great job of keeping me warm in cold and wet conditions. I can get the pants on and off without taking my boots off, but it's a bit of a juggling act (I would love if Marmot made a full zip gore-tex pant). Unfortunately, these pants are not very durable. I have only used them for one summer season and never wore crampons with them, but they already have rips on the inside of both legs and tears along the inner seams. I hike hard and aggressively, but I only wear the pants in inclement weather (about 20% of the time). Thus, they show a lot of wear with not a lot of use. I will patch these up and try to get another season out of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great look, small fit. I have not had chance to test these in the rain yet, but all indications are they should perform well. I echo what others have said about the sizing being on the small side. I'm about 175lbs 5'6" and the XL is a little snug (thanks earlier reviewers, without your guidance I would have ordered a L). I decided to keep them, as I think they'll work for my golfing needs, but I would not be able to wear anything super thick underneath; warm leggings should be fine but I don't think I could do track pants. As they're a slimmer fit, they do look good on; much better than your typical bagging rain pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain Pants I bought these pants for commuting on bike in the rain and they are working wonderfully! The legs of the pants are wide enough that I can easily put them over my work pants or jeans while not being parachute pants. I have an athletic build and finding pants that fit my waist while accommodating for my muscular legs can be challenging, but these do the job. The waist does run a little smaller than I would have liked, but there is elastic on the waist to stretch. I am usually a true medium in pants and these feel just a little tight, so if you are between sized I would recommend going up a size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok I like that they are black and Goretex but they are just ok in my opinion. The large was way too big on me and the mediums too small. My husband kept the large and they fit him fine even though they are women’s pants. I have curvy hips and they seem to be made for someone with straight hips. i also don’t like how wide they are at the ankle. Probably good for snow skiing boots but too big looking if just using them for hiking. I wanted to use them just as too waterproof layer for hiking in Iceland. 4 stars because they are sure to be the perfect pant for someone else just not me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Shell Pants I love that these are a bit more breathable than regular nylon pants. They also have th cinch at the ankle which is exactly what I was looking for! I would say order one size up. I always wear a small (4) and I needed a medium in these for them to be comfortable. I bought these at a store in Canada, but I wish that marmot shipped to Canada from the website!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not up to Tasmanian conditions Look good, feel good! 2nd walk in them and they tore badly on conglomerate rock! Afraid they are just not tough enough for serious bush walking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job! I have worn these once in a pretty steady rain and they kept me dry! I wish I had noticed the cinches at the bottom of each leg earlier, before I scuffed up the bottoms. I wear a size 6-8 in all pants and the mediums were slightly too small to layer over pants and the large is too big. I kept the large so I wouldn’t be uncomfortable sitting in them and just accepted having to pull them up!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for walks in the rain I've moved to the Pacific West Coast and needed some waterproof gear to allow me to continue my hikes when it's wet.
