Built for uphill talus hopping or long multi-pitch routes in dropping temps, the Men's Novus 2.0 Hoody is back with better tech than ever. PrimaLoft® Silver Hi-Loft insulation offers warmth and wind resistance without the bulk in your pack. Its lightweight stretch fabric enables agile moves, while the AirExchange lining enhances breathability for increased comfort. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for I was looking for an insulated jacket for late fall and winter. The Novus 2 is great. I have been out for early morning walks the last two mornings with temps. of 40 degrees. The jacket is great. I as glad to see a heavy duty zipper was used. The one walk was along the Mississippi River and it was moderately windy. The outer layer wind resistance was great. I bought my first Marmot coat in 1983 and the quality has always been great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great active Jacket Bought this Using my Healthcare discount code that Marmot wonderfully provided. What interested me most is that is has a breathable liner which works great at keeping you warm but not hot during cold activities. Recently used this in Tahoe and quickly found this will be my go to jacket, with just a shirt underneath it was warm enough for activities in semi cold conditions, once it dropped below freezing a very simple fleece underneath boosted the warmth tremendously. You could do the same probably by using a shell on the outside of the jacket, but that will sacrifice breathability which is the best feature of this jacket. I could be working and not sweat while outside which is crucial to staying warm. I only added a fleece when I stopped and had to stand around for an hour outside. So far durability isn’t an issue I’ve scrapped it against a few rocks and ledges no rips or insulation has come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket I've only had tho jacket for a little over a month, but its quickly becoming my favorite, go to, jacket. The only thing that would make this jacket better would be pit zips. Everything else is flawless. Great zippers, hand warmer pockets, packable, fitted hood, not an odd ball color… which is huge. For some reason, outdoor apparel always seem to be bright and funny colored. Marmot hit the nail on the head with this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice jacket but very poor quality zippers Used this jacket 3 times. Zipper would catch on the inner material from day 1 and finally broke. Have to pay to ship back for repairs. I most likely will pass because I envision this happening again and again with the cheap zippers utilized on this nice jacket. I have a couple of the original Novus hoody's which have much better quality zippers and never have given me any issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent jacket that doesn't do anything well. For reference, I am 6 feet tall, 170 lbs with broad shoulders, a muscular back, 30 inch waist and long, narrow torso. In a medium, this jacket fits well with enough room to layer a fleece underneath. The arm pits and shoulders are constricted when lifting my arms and the jacket rises up above my waist. The jacket overall is short, but fine for casual use. It is not very packable compared to similar jackets I have used from other brands and is quite heavy. This one won't be clipped to the harness and carried up multi pitch routes very easily. It has a fairly large hood which fits over a helmet. It is not a "breathable" or active type jacket unless it is really cold. I plan to use it mostly as a casual jacket or for short approaches to the sport crag. Couldn't wear it while climbing as it will not fit under a harness. It's a mid layer that keeps one warm in moderately cool temps and can be layered over. Overall, it was worth $80.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmer than expected Compared to other jackets of this weight and style I would say the Novus is burlier and warmer than most. If you're looking for a solid hybrid insulation piece that has some breathability while remaining warm, look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect ski layer. I combine this with my base layer and shell for the perfect temperature skiing here in Utah. Not too warm that I’m sweating and not ever cold. I love wearing puffy coats, but this has been my go to all winter.
