Disappointing zipperNice jacket, definitely warm even though it’s much lighter in weight than what I’m used to. It’s comfortable and looks nice. The downfall for mine is the zipper hasn’t worked well since day 1. Usually takes me 5-10 tries to get it to start zipping up, frustrating to say the least. I wish it was a more heavy duty zipper because it feels like I’m about to rip it every time I’m fighting with it. We’ll see how long this lasts. 3.5 stars due to the frustration involved. If it wasn’t for that, easily a 5 star purchase for the price.

Incredible!!The Marmot Oslo strikes a perfect balance between minimalism and functionality. Water proof, warm, and light weight. The function and aesthetics are what drew me to this parka/jacket/coat. This is a long parka and the fit is more generous than some other Marmot offerings. The Oslo works very well for a taller individual or one that has a long torso. I am 6’3” tall and weight 220lbs and purchased a size XL. I could have gone down to a size large but wanted extra wiggle room to layer underneath (although not necessary as this thing is crazy warm!). To top it off... Marmot quality!!!

Felt very durable and warm, sizing was so far offI was excited to get this jacket on sale for a great price. I followed the sizing chart online and measurements were dead center for everything in a large. When I received it it was GIGANTIC. I was able to zip it up with my boy inside with me. I called customer service and they said the sizing chart is accurate. I don't know if I actually just received an XXXL or what but if that was a true large I would need an Small or XS. I am 6' 195lbs, ultimately I returned it and went with another brand because they did not have a medium and didn't want to have to return again if that was still too big. I really wanted to keep the jacket and it felt very durable and well built.

Warm with Simple LinesA longer 'Parka' with a high level of insulation fill keeps me warm in northern wet winters! I didn't want the exposed down quilting of a normal 'puffy' jacket. Those jackets don't do well in snow/rain mixes. The Gortex shell simplifies the lines, keeps the look reserved, and is a hero in those wet snow storms that flip between snow & rain. The added length keeps the hips and thigh warm, however this makes it awkward to access pants pockets. All the zippers are waterpoof which is great functionaly and they look premium. The added gaskets makes zipping tricky and adds some resistance. The main zipper can be openend from the bottom, this makes bending over and sitting down much easier! The Fleece wrist cuffs gaters keep drafts out. They are functional, but the material of the fleece doesn't meet the same high quality feeling found in the rest of the Oslo jacket. The only MISSING featurs are draw-cords at the waist or bottom.

Excellent around town as a light parkaI bought this to wear through the winter 'around town'. The cut is plenty long (mid-thigh) and the chest and shoulders are roomy. The sleeves are just the right length for me and I like the elastic cuffs within them. Heat escapes readily around my neck when I'm not wearing bulky clothes underneath. The warmth is appropriate for any conditions in the vicinity of the freezing mark.
With the Gore-tex outer shell, its kept me dry in cold rain but let's be clear - with down insulation stitched permanently in a waterproof shell, it is not a technical setup. The mid-thigh length is very comfortable for standing and walking but limits freedom of movement. So I won't take this jacket hiking or for anything where I could break a sweat.

Absolutely perfect!Bought this and ran with it for the first time today -- wow! It's so toasty I almost had to take it off on my drive in to work. Puffy inside keeps me warm with great sleeve length and even better bottom length. I live in WI where the winters are brutal, so this will absolutely do the trick. I am 6'3" - 225lbs and a large was a perfect fit (form fitting but room to move) vs. the XL, which was great on arm and bottom length but too baggy in the midsection.

Not just for menI'm a 6" tall, broad shouldered and, er, chested woman, and I find that women's coats are a little too slim cut, even in larger sizes, if I want to wear more than just a thin layer underneath. With a job that has me parking/walking outside in Minnesota in all seasons, I bought a bunch of Men's and Women's coat length options from Marmot and this is the one I kept. why?
1. The look is pretty sleek and polished, even though it's a legit winter coat. I love that it's puffer on the inside, light weight, but the gortex exterior gives it a more upscale polish. (plus: waterproof. I mean, it's winter. Frozen water falling from sky in multiple forms, for 5 months.) Worn today - 20 degrees in November - over a sweater dress and feeling warm and dressed sharply, which typically doesn't happen at the same time.
2. SO MANY POCKETS. I'm not sure why women's clothing never have as many/as large of pockets but I feel like I've been admitted to the secret society of never having to carry a purse again with the size of and number of pockets in this coat. Pockets may be the real secret of the patriarchy and now I'm going to dominate because I have them too.
3. Fleece lining in all the right places, including that little tab that's going to rub your face when you have the hood up and jacket fully zipped. Fleece pockets, fleece sleeve cuffs, fleece fleece fleece.
4. I can wear the coat with a sweater or light blazer underneath and still be able to zip it and move around.
Overall, very high quality, looks sharp, and I'm super happy with it and ready to run headlong into winter, even on a workday. Bring it on.

Wind, rain and snow in MNThe coat is advertised; rain, wind and snow cannot penetrate. I purchased the coat in early Dec ‘19 and it has been through -16 temps, 40mph winds and rain/snow and held up well. Overall I am very happy with the coat, aside from a few small complaints. The zippers are a little finicky (due to the tapes seams they’re a little riding) and the hood being fully attached is both an asset and a hindrance (asset as it’s always there and hindrance because it makes zipping up the front closure hard when not using the hood). Also, the coat feels a little boxy as there’s no waist cinching. Overall happy with coat and feel it meets the functional needs of what I wanted from a thigh length, water proof parka without a lot of bulk.
