Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Climbing/Outdoor Pants I bought this for a combination of climbing and hiking and they’ve worked beautiful so far. They’re a little warm for weather above 70 but the DWR coating has worked well in some light rain. The fit is a tad baggy but not too noticeable, and I like the ability cinch up the bottom cuffs of the pants. It makes it easier to roll them up and have them secure. Overall, great pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still a great pant, but... I'll start by saying these are an excellent pair of pants. But, I have a pair of the old version that I like a lot more. The back pocket was removed and so were the zippered ankle cuffs. They also changed the logos from embroidery to what looks like a heat-on application which I think takes away from the overall quality and appearance. I think if you don't own a pair of the old style you'll absolutely love these and I'll repeat that they are still a great pair of pants. I just liked the old ones so much I can't give these a higher rating. I'll add that I wear a 36 waist in almost everything. These fit me perfect in a 36 so sizing is spot-on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Basis Softshell Pants I've put these pants through the ringer this spring in the mountains. Between glissading down snow, sliding down scree, and plenty of uphill in between they've really held up. They seem more like an alpine climbing pant than a ski pant to me (Drawcords on the ankles make it easier to keep the pants above the ankle and see your footwork. The pants aren't wide enough to fit over ski boots.) And, they've done well in both disciplines for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great design, poor durability Great design, poor construction. I had a pair of these from 10 years ago that I loved, but am greatly disappointed by the durability of this new pair. After 3 days of use(gym bouldering, hiking, alpine rock,) the pants have started coming apart at the seams in several places. The worst of which is a quarter-sized opening in the crotch. Another issue is that the elastic in the right ankle has already lost its cinch, which I don’t mind and can take partial responsibility for burn is worth mentioning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love SCREE PANTS...BUT I own 6 pr of MARMOT SCREE PANTS...they are my go to pants - tough n flexible...classy enough for casual social affairs....I just purchased the 'Scotch' on sale..more subtle color than photos...My 'but' w SCREE PANTS...is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it ...MARMOT tinkers w this great product...from original stretch panel waist sizes of S,M,L XL to 32, 34, 36 etc...now no back zip pocket, replaced w one on the the thigh...and no zip ankles, replaced by a draw cord...I still stand by MARMOT SCREE PANTS...but, in my estimation these tinkerings w the details have not been 'improvements'

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Details I have two pairs of these bought at least a year apart the most recent two years ago. The most recent had a defect in the stitching of the outer thigh pocket, which allowed things to pass through. Just a couple days ago, the zipper on my right pocket decided to come off track on a different pair I've had for at least four years. I wear these pants only a few days a year, maybe 30. I'd expect better.
