Terrible exterior fabric and zipper; great warmthSave your money, and buy something with a durable exterior. The warmth is top-notch for our cold, central PA winters, but the quality of the rip-stop fabric is beyond bad. What good is the 700 fill down if it's all falling out? Within 2 weeks my 6 year old son had 2 tears: one in the seam of an arm, and another along one of the panels. We do a lot outdoors, so it could have gotten snagged on a branch or on an icy patch of snow, but personal experience with these fabrics demonstrates that it should NOT tear this badly. Marmot did nothing to fix this, other than "offering" us a repair for $30/panel. Bottom line: not an acceptable exterior fabric. I am beyond disappointed.

Excellent Warmth, poor zipperI bought two of these jackets in February 2016. It is now Nov. 2016 and the children fit into them. The jacket is very puffy and very warm and looks sharp. Unfortunately the zipper is a cheap plastic that gets warped and zipper gets stuck often. Sometimes the zipper can't even latch together for zipping. I had to fidget with zipper for 5 minutes and prayed before it finally caught on for zipping up. Why Marmot chose this cheap plastic I don't know. It's like putting the cheapest tires on a Cadillac. The jacket is beautiful, puffy, and very warm. I have absolute confidence sending my kids out into the Alaska wind and cold with this jacket. Wish the zipper was better quality, though.

SO Warm and Comfortable!!I bought this for my 12 1/2 year old son. Prior to this purchase, I was grateful to the other comments saying how warm this jacket is. I think we get so used to buying jackets over and over and still end up cold that when my son needed to put on his new jacket, he was skeptical. After about a minute had gone by, my son looked at me and said, "oh my gosh, I am SO warm! I love this jacket, thank you mom!" Not to mention, his older brothers friends were over and complemented him on his new jacket. Now my husband, 14 year old son and myself all want one too! :)). Thank you Marmot for making a quality jacket!!

Outstanding Adventure Gear for KidsThis puffy has kept my 7 year old daughter safe and warm to the top of Mount Saint Helens and Mount Adams. Though it's the "boys" model, it fits her great. I am very thankful Marmot creates quality gear for kids that is every bit as good as the adventure clothing made for adults. If you're a parent looking at this jacket and wondering if it's worth the price, it is!

Believe the Hype.Bought this for my 6 year-old son after I picked he and his Dad up from a day of skiing the slopes together in Utah. Dad was fine. But my son, who was wearing average "kids-quality" ski clothing was freezing and crying. Ordered this jacket online that night. He has been completely warm and happy skiing in all conditions ever since. Purchased the matching Marmot snow pants for him at the same time and completely threw out all of his former bad-parenting cheap ski clothing. (p.s. Then, I saw the difference the clothing had made for my son and thought, "Why am I letting me own hands FREEZE every time I ski? So, I bought some Marmot snow mittens for myself. Life changing. Warm hands all day! Life changing. Made me feel like an idiot that I have been skiing cold for so many years.) Marmot, if you ever read these, I'm a raving fan. And I don't think I have ever left a review for anything purchased online anywhere ever before.

Looks great just like a Marmot!I have known Marmot Mountain Works since the early days in Grand Junction, CO where it was founded. I grew up with the best down coats on the planet made near my humble home town of Fruita, Colorado. I haven't bought a Marmot product since the late 1970s / early 1980's. (The company's move from CO to California was bad mojo in my young psyche.) In any event, I just bought a down jacket for my 13 year-old son and it's just like I remember the old days - fluffy, full of down, great colors, a bit of old-school style (but not too much) and just a beautiful jacket. Thank you for maintaining the character, quality, and style I remember from many moons ago! Now move the company back to Colorado where it belongs. ;-) Kind regards, ss

Perfect coat for an active kidIt’s been a cold spring here, so our intention of keeping for next year didn’t happen. Our son loves it and has kept him very warm. We went with a S, he is 48” and 45lbs, and it is a little big now but hopefully will be perfect next winter.
Quality seems like Marmot, so we are quite happy!
