Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dripping inside Took the tent for a multi-day backpacking trip in August. Woke up to frost on the tent, and once the sun hit the fly, the frost melted and the water collected and dripped along the pole that crosses above the mesh front door. This caused a continuous drip of water from the cross pole at the door, onto the mesh of the front door and soaked the inside of the tent. Good thing we woke up early and noticed, because this definitely would have soaked through my sleeping bag. Poor design choice with the pole running above the mesh front door. This is clearly not a suitable shelter for any season, as it's possible for water to condensate on the fly then drip on the inside due to the pole above the mesh door.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good until it breaks I have purchased this tent several years ago, and have been using it regularly for camping and several week canoe trips. Tent is very comfortable, big enough for 3 fit people, stands well against the rain and moderate abuse. Super-easy to install, my wife with 6y old kid can put it on in 5 mins without any problem. It could weight a bit less, but for canoe trips the weight is less of an issue. The problem started when one of the pole sections got broken. Marmot company doesn't sell replacement parts and gives number of another company who does tent repairs. And that another company says - yes, we often get calls like this, can't help you, we don't have this part. When I buy a tent - I want to be able to repair it for it is quite an expensive purchase. Won't buy Marmot anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent tent overall We've had this tent for a year now and taken it on multiple long canoe trips and ultimately are pleased with our selection. We've weathered two bad storms and it held up marvelously. The weight and size is very comparable to other 3p tents (it fits me and my partner and our stuff sack well enough). My complaints are minor, but not forgettable every time we set it up: 1) one door is not screened, so it's hard to get a good cross breeze. And the mesh is so tight, it keeps out a light breeze, so we have found the tent to be quite warm. (That said, the mesh roof is lovely for stargazing on clear nights without the fly) 2) the pockets are infuriatingly small and triangular shape, meaning they hold next to nothing. But overall, this is a good tent that sets up easy and will keep you warm and dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tent We bought this as a car and canoe camping tent. It’s relatively easy to set up and as a 3p tent it has ample and luxurious living room for 2 people. One thing to note however is that it only comes with 6 stakes (enough for four corners and 2 vestibules), so you would need at least 2 more stakes to properly tension the fly away from the tent body in a downpour, and a full 6 more stakes to tie it down in a proper storm. Kinda weird?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much bang for the buck I got this tent from my family for christmas as my first adult tent so I expected that they found some budget tent at a used outdoor store. But this tent has exceeded my expectations. It vents well, when you keep the rain fly rolled up on the sides, the water proofing is excellent. One night we ended up sleeping in a puddle but the tent was bone dry on the bottom. My only complaint is that the rain fly is smaller than the footprint of the tent, but once we figured that out, it wasnt too hard to work around.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting Was not as happy as I was hoping to be with tent, it leaks if the corners get wet because the fly doesn't fit right. Water also builds up inside the fly despite being tied down properly. After spending $200+ on a tent I would hope it could hold up to some rain. I did enjoy the size of this tent, lots of room and lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Served Me Well In Ladakh I am happy with this purchase. It served me really well during my recent trip to Ladakh (Indian Himalaya) where I pitched it at an altitude of 5000 meters plus. It unexpectedly rained heavily and then snowed severely one of the nights and the tent held its ground very well despite me not being able to clear all the snow from the top that night. Only the poles got temporarily twisted trying to cope with the excess load of the snow. In the morning when I managed to remove all the snow it regained its shape immediately. I must say it fought the battle very valiantly and kept me completely dry. Many tents in the base camp area had collapsed that night. It has all the right features that you might wish to have in a tent. The product description lists them all and I am not repeating them. They are all very useful features. Setting it up or packing it back is a breeze. Even a child can do it. I would advice for you to pack it loose when you keep it in long term storage at home. I had kept it packed tight for a long time and there was some flaking of the waterproof coating inside. This should be part of the instruction they should mention in the literature that comes with the tent. Also the stuffing sack material is a little too thin for the rough and tumble of a Himalayan expedition. It was packed on a mule along with other things and it got a gash. Lucky that the tent inside was intact. I accept that this is not an expedition tent and this was partially my fault. But mentioned it just in case someone makes the same mistake of passing it on to the mule. Another small negative, this tent has almost zero ventilation if you pull the two zips. You must leave a few inches of the zip undone preferably on both the sides for cross ventilation, even if the temperature is way below freezing point. Otherwise there might be problems of suffocation. The part of the tent that looks like mesh is not mesh. The colour of the fly could be a little less hideous. But the advantage is in a crowded camp site you don't run the risk of missing it ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy !! I needed a new tent on my way to Northern California for a camping trip 7 hrs north of San Fran. This tent held up through 80 mph gusts and it also rained 75% of the time spent there and I was the only one with a dry tent... the only thing is it built up moisture as I expected. But the ground stayed dry with the under tarp and rain fly... if you set it up proper anybody can use this tent!!!
