Bring the Mantis 2-Person Plus Tent on short backpacking trips or to outdoor festivals when unfavorable weather is in the cards. The seam-taped, catenary-cut floor and full-coverage vented fly add to its weather protection. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent! I was skeptical about this tent because there were no reviews (until now), so I did not know how well this tent would fair in the rain, since there is no rainfly for it. I recently camped in Watkins Glen State Park, so I got to see how this tent would hold up. On our drive to our campsite I saw another Mantis, which was a welcome sight. The tent was very easy to assemble. The only issue I have is that the canopy poles don't have a pointed end to stick in the ground. At night I woke up to a torrential downpour. The inside of the tent was completely dry, so I was very pleased. I attend a lot of music festivals, so I am excited to see if this tent will continue to impress me the more I use it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed Bag Pros: Spacious Keeps water out, even though it's single walled - Spent two nights with constant light rain Overhead tarp comes in handy for shade and rain protection Great for car camping, maybe limited to summer-only camping Cons: The zipper to close the vestibule is at a very extreme angle when inside the tent The mesh in the back of the tent is always open, no zipper to close it, and makes the tent very cold. It makes it unusable in temperatures below 40 degrees without some serious sleeping bags or blankets. The footprint for this tent is $60, the tent is $109, that doesn't make sense.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to set up I bought this for summer camping. I liked the idea of the shade provided by the front fly. It is easy to set up and plenty of room for two or in my case a Golden Retriver. The fly makes a shady front porch, great for escaping the midsummer rays.By adding a few more guy lines and adding stakes to the fly poles, I made this tent more stable in the breeze. As some have mentioned, this tent does have condensation issues, even with the front flap left open. In moderate to warmer temps this tent is great ! Just when the nights get colder does condensation become an issue. Seems to be well made and I like that you don't need a rain fly to stay dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weird tent Thus us a very weird tent. It MUST be pegged out SECURELY and I doubt it could handle a lot of wind on loose soil or sand. There is no door, just a screen. You have to close the awning for privacy. Opening the awning from inside is awkward. The screen door is huge. The inside is big for a 2 person and easily fit us and our medium size dog. The entire roof leaked the first time we used it so we have to treat it and the awning. We bought it on sale in the winter so we can't return it. Overall not a great tent but we still like it for some reason. It's different from any other tent so we will keep using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge tent I bought this on sale and I definitely got a steal this is a great ten if your tall 6'5 like me. Lots of room I don't do ultra light and this fits all my stuff "in side" not counting the huge vestibule. The awning is tricky and I don't use it you definitely need a soft ground to use the awning properly but besides that price and quality I would put this as top budget big guy tent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I expected and well made. Bought last year for deer hunting solo. Snowed immediately, woke to 4" on tent. Yes, well vented at end, but proper staking can eliminate that gap. Very roomy and I loved it. Had a low chair inside and was able to cook. Not freestanding so stake out well first. Fantastic summer or warm-moderate weather tent and just fine in the snow, rain, hail and cold if you're thick skinned. I love the design too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome quality and extremely durable! I bought this tent a little while back, and wow do I love it! It packs down small, is easy to set up, and couldn't have been any easier to clean. I was so impressed by it that It's become my one and only go-to tent for all my hiking trips, which are plentiful. Overall the features blow away the competition, and I love how rugged and durable it is!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great 3 Season Tent for the Price I purchased this tent as a light weight and simple replacement for an old style tent. If you are really into bundling up you could make it a 4 season tent but make sure you get a serious footprint and an extra rainfly as condensation starts to saturate the built in fly. The tent is spacious, two people have a good 6 inches of space in between each other for room to flop around throughout the night. A great feature is the front flap that converts into a cool front awning to watch the word from the inside of your tent while staying nice and dry. It is also the perfect space for dirty gear and to have your boots waiting to hop into in the morning. The only qualm I have is related to setting up the tent. The front two awning poles have to be finessed into place to keep the flap open without tying it off (these are optional, the tent is supported by stakes and the main horizontal pole). Definitely bring extra paracord to tie it off to trees if possible to make it sturdier.
