Description
Remarkably light and compact, the Helium 15° Sleeping Bag delivers impressive insulation during three-season backpacking and mountaineering treks. Featuring Pertex® Microlight on the exterior, its lofty 800-fill-power-down insulation and water-resistant Down Defender treatment will keep you warm and dry. After an epic day on the mountain, give your feet a rest in the roomy wrap-around footbox. Smooth, curved baffles help keep the fill in place, while the nautilus multi-baffle hood with a drawcord, snagless insulated draft tube, and full-length, two-way zipper with a zip-guard slider limit heat loss. If the interior gets too warm, use the fold-down secondary zipper to get some air. Tuck small items into the internal stash pocket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light + Comfy but not as warm as desired Been using this bag for about 4 years, mainly summer to early fall backpacking trips in the sierras. I bought it due to great reviews and excellent weight to warmth ratio. No complaints about the weight, but I'd trade a few more ounces for a bit more warmth if I could go back and purchase again. I'm 5'10 male 165 lbs and it fits impeccably with comfy hood. It has always gotten me by, but many nights in the 20s to low 30s have definitely resulted in a chilly sleep with cold feet. Nice construction and a fantastic lightweight bag for mid 30s and up backpacking, but I'd invest in a slightly heavier bag with more down if spending a good amount of time above 10k'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag! This bag was a huge upgrade from my current 650 fill/25 degree down bag. Love the 800 fill and 15 degree rating which is somewhat unique in a world filled with 20-30 degree down bags. Construction is solid with a great hood that cinches down so, you can disappear in it and the second side zipper is another great feature that helps with ventilation and access. Stuffs down relatively small as well! My only gripe is that it's only offered in a left zip which will take some getting use to. With all that said, I plan on having this bag for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag The lack of a right zipper does bother me, but it packs great, weighs very little, meets it's heating standard and is quite comfortable. I took this with me in the Annapurna sanctuary and it performed well at the different climates and temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right I just completed a first backpack trip with my new Helium. The temperatures dropped into the high 20's with strong winds. The bag was comfortable in tent with long johns and cap but I would put on more clothes if colder. The bag is a perfect three-season balance between weight and warmth. The Nautilus hood is great and at 6'1", the regular bag just fits me, thanks to the ergonomic foot-box design. I can't imagine a better balanced bag with 800 fill ingredients for weight and warmth. The stuff sack could be a bit larger to more easily conform to the interior of my pack and for easier stuffing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty warm An exceptional bag that kept me warm on my first night using it when the temperature at Tioga Lake dipped down to 4° F. This bag made all the difference. Perhaps my best camping investment ever. You will not be disappointed with a Marmot sleeping bag. They are the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1700 mile / 4 months of bag nights review I purchased this bag all the way back in 2004 or so and have since spent about 120 bag nights in it at least. The 15 degree rating is true and not over inflated. I have slept in freezing conditions with long base layer / sleep socks and never felt cold. If anything, this rating is a bit warm for August in lower elevation nights. The loft is unchanged and still puffy after just one professional bag wash, which has really pleasantly surprised me. Stitching and material have not broken down and the bag appears as virtually new after 1700 trail miles. The Helium is still competitive at 2 lbs after all these years (presumably why they still make it) and has made me a Marmot fan. I may eventually acquire an Atom for warmer months but I have no plans to replace this long serving sleep system as I see nothing yet that would cut enough weight for loft. This is the longest serving piece of UL gear (aside from a Ti pot) that I never thought I'd keep this long without replacement / upgrade. Highly recommended. I have zero affiliation with Marmot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sleeping bag Bought this bag because i was getting cold on my elk hunts, my kelty 20° bag was not enough to keep me warm. I should mention i am a cold sleeper and i wanted the best bag i could afford. I did alot of research and it came down to the lithium and the stone glacier bag. I ended up buying the lithium and i couldn't be happier. This year on my elk hunt i never once got cold, we even got a foot of snow and temps down in the teens. I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for a solid bag in the backcountry. 2lbs is a giant plus also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Added to my Pinnacle because others borrow it I’ve used this bag extensively on mountains, on canoe trips, and backpacking. It has taken everything I’ve dished out. Body condensation dries quickly; tent condensation doesn’t penetrate. I’m not rough on my gear: I still have my Too Warm jacket and Marmot’s first taped gore jacket from 1989. Roomy bag, plenty of roof and surprisingly lightweight. It’s not quite as warm as my Pinnacle which is good. I’ve pushed this bag to near 0 degrees and other than some initial chill on my lower back; I slept well. Unlike some others, I’ve had no issues with the zipper snagging. All in all, the Helium meets my expectations which, admittedly, quite high. For comfort, warmth, non sogginess, and price the Marmot Pinnacle is another in a long line of excellent bags.
